As part of continuing efforts to make Eilat an international
sports competition destination and host city, a new skate park will be built in
Israel’s southernmost resort city, scheduled for completion in Fall 2013.
The 2,000 square meter skate park is planned to be part of a
new outdoor sporting and leisure compound that aims to connect the tourist
centers of the city with other areas in the resort. It will be located behind
the Eilat Museum. Other parts of the area are planned to include a musical
fountain, an “extreme park,” a visitors’ center, an amphitheater, open green
areas and other facilities and attractions.
The skate park is designed for tourists, locals
and professional skaters from Israel and overseas, offering another facility
for international sports competitions.

already established itself as a firm favorite among visitors to the resort, who
can enjoy the dozens of stores, cafes and restaurants built around an 1800
square meter Olympic size ice rink – and all under cover.
