Highlights of the feast

Beginning at the Church of Bethphage on the Mount of Olives toward the Old City: The procession exits the Bethphage Church, on the eastern slope of the Mount of Olives, at approximately 14:30 hours. It ascends towards the summit and descends to Gethsemane. It then proceeds to its final destination in the Old City. Participants in the procession include Scouts bands, the local Arab congregations, pilgrims and, at its rear guard - the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, with the Franciscan community, along with priests and seminarians. The procession concludes with a ceremony in the courtyard of Saint Anne’s church.
