The Druze village of Isfiya, atop beautiful Mount Carmel has a rich tradition of openness and hospitality. Its special location, a good starting point for Carmel nature walks, and its rich cultural traditions have made it a visitor magnet. Isfiya was first established some 300 years ago by Druze from the mountains of Lebanon, later joined by several Egyptian families. The village center still boasts several older buildings typical of the region. The main street has a lively bazaar with a variety of colorful shops and restaurants.
