Tikotin Musuem of Japanese Art

This unique museum contains 7,000 works of art, crafts, ceramics, lacquer, swords and other items dating mainly from the 17th to 19th centuries, and modern Japanese prints. The museum’s first 4,000 works are the collection of its founder, Felix Tikotin, who during World War II fled from Germany to Holland where he hid the collection from the Nazis. He eventually donated it to the museum he would build in Haifa on Mount Carmel.
