Largest-Ever Collection of Coins From Bar-Kokhba Revolt Found by Cave Researchers in Judean Hills
The largest cache of rare coins ever found in a scientific excavation from the period of the Bar-Kokhba revolt of the Jews against the Romans has been discovered in a cave by researchers from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Bar-Ilan University.

A synagogue from the Second Temple period (50 BCE-100 CE) was exposed in archaeological excavations the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) is conducting at a site slated for the construction of a hotel on Migdal beach.

Rare Illuminated 14th Century Hebrew Manuscript on First-Time Display At the Shrine of the Book, Israel Museum
A new exhibition entitled The Nuremberg Mahzor: A Medieval Masterpiece Unveiled will open 15 September 2009 at the Shrine of the Book, Israel Museum, Jerusalem, showcasing the Nuremberg Mahzor, one of the most complete illuminated Hebrew prayer books and among the largest surviving medieval codices in the world.

17 June, 2009: Thirteen years after one of the most beautiful mosaics ever to be seen in the country was covered over, the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA), in cooperation with the municipality of Lod and its residents, is beginning an archaeological excavation that will re-expose the mosaic, once and for all.

Excavations Reveal Aqueduct That Brought Water To The Temple Mount And Sultan's Pool
16 June, 2009: The Israel Antiquities Authority uncovered the main aqueduct that conveyed water to the Temple Mount and also served as the principal water supply to the Sultan’s Pool, during an excavation carried out prior to the construction of the Montefiore Museum in Mishkenot Sha’ananim.

In collaboration with Israel’s State Archives and in celebration of Israel’s 60th anniversary, a new exhibition entitled Blue and White Pages: Documenting the History of Israel opens 10 October 2008 at the Israel Museum, displaying approximately 100 original documents from the history of the people and State of Israel, the majority in first-time public display.
