“Unique” Ancient Synagogue Uncovered in Galilee
A synagogue from the Second Temple period (50 BC – 100 AD) was uncovered in archaeological excavations conducted by the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) in Migdal on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. In the middle of the synagogue is a stone that is engraved with a seven-branched menorah (candelabrum), the likes of which has never before been seen.   Read more »

Just outside the Jaffa Gate entrance to the Old City – located in what is destined to be the new “heart of Jerusalem” – is the Mamilla Alrov Quarter project, designed by renowned architect Moshe Safdie.
