A rich layer of discoveries from the latter part of the First Temple period (8th – 6th centuries BCE) was recently uncovered in archaeological salvage excavations that are being carried out in the northwestern part of the Western Wall plaza, just west of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
Celebrating the Jewish New Year

Rosh Hashanah is a solemn celebration commemorating the Jewish New Year. It falls on the first day of the seventh Hebrew calendar month, Tishri. The first of the Jewish High Holidays, Rosh Hashanah is a time to mark the creation of the world by God. It is also a time for the Jewish people to pause from their daily routines and examine their lives and their relationships with God.
